Montserrat: the Magic Mountain
Montserrat is a rocky massif traditionally considered the most important and significant mountain in Catalonia. It is located just under an hour from the hostel between the Anoia, Baix Llobregat and Bages regions. On this mountain is the Benedictine monastery and sanctuary of Montserrat, dedicated to the Virgin of Montserrat. If you like hiking, climbing or want to spend a different day with the family, Montserrat is a place that will surprise you.
The highest of Barcelona mountains: Tibidabo
The mountain that crowns the Barcelona skyline is Tibidabo. It is part of the Collserola mountain range, which is the mountain range that protects the city. This mount has a height of 512 meters and is the highest mountain in Barcelona. Tibidabo hosts on its hillside and summit various trails and facilities that are worth a visit.

The Carmel bunkers
Lately it has become fashionable to visit Turó de la Rovira, near the Gracia neighborhood and Park Güell. Precisely in this place are the Carmel anti-aircraft batteries popularly known as the Carmel bunkers. It is a hill that emerges from the center of the city and that for years has served as a defense point against various attacks. The views from there are privileged and generate authentic postcards of Barcelona.

Montjuic: Mountain sea with a lot of history
Montjuic is the closest mountain to Barcelona to the sea. What’s more, its cliffs fall on the port and from them the lighthouse illuminates. Montjuic offers multiple attractions from walks with spectacular views to go back in time visiting its castle or museums dedicated to the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games.

“Parc del Montseny”
The Montseny Natural Park is located on horseback between the regions of Vallès Oriental, Osona and La Selva. This park is formed by a mountainous massif with more than 500 million years old. This place is one of the green lungs of Catalonia. The Turó de l’Home is the highest mountain, at 1712 meters of altitude. It is one of the places that is usually covered by snow during winter. On clear and windy days, its silhouette can be seen from El Prat de Llobregat. The extension of this park is quite wide and you can access it from various places.

“El Garraf Natural Park”: the beauty of the wild
The first thing that will surprise you is that the landscape of this place is quite dry. Even pulling desert in some points. The palm heart is the symbolic plant of the park. It is totally protected and it is totally forbidden to tear sheets. If we continue to enter the park, we will be greeted by the immense calcareous rock walls that make up the entire Garraf massif. The vineyard barracks and dry stone walls are hidden between the white stone and surround old farmhouses and some of the small towns that are found in the solitary interior of the park.

The fauna that inhabits the Garraf Park stands out for its birds of prey and Mediterranean turtles. This park is one of the best places for observing the passage of migrating birds of prey. On the other hand, it works on a project to recover the Mediterranean turtle, an endemic species of our territory and in serious danger of extinction.
