Eating vegetarian in El Prat and in Barcelona

Today we propose different options for all those who visit us and are vegetarians and vegans. More and more people are choosing this way of understanding food, and we believe that you should know what offer we have near the hostel for you. We present three alternatives: in El Prat, in Barcelona and Do It Yourself.

First option: Do it yourself

As we explained in the blog, we propose a fun activity. And surely, you can NOT do in any other hostel in Barcelona. What do you think to get up early on Saturday and enjoy the morning bustle of Mercat de Pagès? And also, with what you buy, you can prepare some very top dishes. Because what we offer you is the idea that you buy what you want to cook yourself. Potatoes, beans, salad greens, spinach, tender garlic, tomatoes … These are first quality products that you can use as a chef in our kitchen with total freedom.

There are also different places in the city where you can buy legumes and nuts, or teas and coffees, like Al Gra, two minutes from our hostel, in the middle of the main street.

You buy it, you cook it and you eat it. With products of first quality, seasonal and proximity

Eating vegan in El Prat

More and more menus from El Prat restaurants incorporate the vegan option in their dishes. Surely many will adapt to your requests, but others already include these options in their menus. We know the Cèntric Gastrobar option. Ten minutes walk from Muchamasia, you will find this restaurant. You can enjoy healthy and seasonal cuisine, with special care for the products of the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat. In this place you will find a wide variety of patatas bravas, gazpacho, salmorejo or pankoras, chickpea fritters and zucchini.

Another option in El Prat to eat vegan is El Regust. This restaurant also works with the seasonal products of the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat and gives them an exotic touch. For example, rice with Vietnamese base, or hummus with eggplant and honey.

There are also more restaurants that include delicious options with the vegetables that are grown in the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat. One that we really like is La Lluna en un Cove. The cook Rosa Farrés works directly with the farmers of El Prat. Take care of the elaborations with artichokes in season, tomatoes or courgettes.

If you’re sweet or greedy, you’ll have to stop by Le Tigré Cakes. This unique space in the city is very close to the hostel. They have incredible hands to make desserts and sweets like cupcakes and cakes. And of course, many of them are made with vegetable ingredients, such as carrot cake.

Eating in Barcelona

In Barcelona, eating vegan has its own name: Rasoterra Barcelona. This Bistrot restaurant is considered the best vegetarian in Barcelona and Spain. Yes! Gastronomic critics say so. They understand the vegan gastronomy as something fun, getting away from the clichés about this type of food. As they say, they are the “the life and soul of the garden”.

Another must in the vegetarian aspect of Barcelona is Teresa Carles. This restaurant continues to gain followers. Among its dishes you can try the pumpkins in tempura or Teresa Goes to Tokyo.
