Find out what’s coming up in December in El Prat

December is related to cold weather and the arrival of Christmas. But it is also the month of reunions and a busy life in our city El Prat. Because you should know that December has an unquestionable star: the Pota Blava. December in El Prat is ready for you to enjoy it.

The Prat Breed Poultry Fair: an unquestionable event of December in El Prat.

The last weekend before Christmas, the city of El Prat dresses up for the fair. Best samples of chickens of the Prat breed are exhibited to show the richness of such spectacular chickens. Yes, in our town we have our own breed of chickens, which have blue legs, and produce an exquisite meat. It is the only chicken in Spain that has the recognition of the European Union with a PGI, Protected Geographical Indication. If you haven’t tried it, we recommend you to do so in one of the restaurants that cook it.

You can enjoy the chickens, learn about the work of local farmers, find out what the companies do throughout the year and also enjoy various festive events. Artisans coming from all over Spain sell their products in stalls around the fair area, in Granja de la Ricarda. All for free!

Theater for all tastes

Due to Christmas time, the theater program is reduced compared to other months, but still, both the Teatre L’Artesà and the Teatre Kaddish feature interesting performances.

The Teatre L’Artesà features performances such as “Una noche sin luna”, a show by Juan Diego Botto inspired on texts by Federico García Lorca. It will be on December 11th in the afternoon. And we also recommend you to attend the Nit Solidària per Casa Terra (Solidarity Night for Casa Terra) on December 10th. It is a solidarity show with the collaboration of artists such as Natxo Tarrés.
