One day getaways to the high mountains: Núria
The Núria Valley is anchored in the highest areas of the Ripollès region. It is a remote place, presided by a large lake, frozen in winter and cool in summer. We are in the Pyrenees. As they explain in their official website “Núria is surrounded by peaks of almost 3,000 meters and from where many sources and torrents are born”. We propose you to enjoy this spectacular landscape of high mountain with a singular transport: the rack train. The zipper has a route of 12.5 km and exceeds a difference of more than 1,000 meters. Once there, you can let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the landscape and enjoy the purest air.
Reaching the Vall de Núria is very easy by public transport. The train brings you up to the mountain from El Prat de Llobregat. The Garraf Beach
Have you taken the swimsuit? We present you a beautiful beach just over 20 minutes from MuchaMasia. This is one of the ideal getaways to do in summer, although in winter the beach maintains its magic. We propose you to visit Garraf beach. It is a small fishing village, located right between the large mounds of the Garraf massif. A charming little town, that still keeps the essence of the fishermen of always. The peculiarity of the beach of Garraf are also its booths on the beach, formerly of fishermen, now used as changing rooms and beach clubs.
Getting to Garraf Beach is very easy. You just have to take the train in El Prat and get off at Garraf, always on a train bound for Vilanova i la Geltrú. If you are going to spend the day there, it is not bad that you eat an arrocito in any of its restaurants.
L’Estany de Sils, an unknown lake
The pond of Sils is a small humid area that remains as a vestige of what was the largest inland lake in Catalonia. This lake is in Sils, a small village in Girona very close to Maçanet de la Selva. The pond of Sils harbors a great biodiversity of fauna and flora. And of them, birds stand out. Ducks, herons and common birds, little birds or martinetes coexist in this place fully adapted for a day trip.
We propose you a very easy 2 km route with which you can evaluate this whole ecosystem. The train takes you to Sils from El Prat de Llobregat. You do transshipment in Sants towards Maçanet de la Selva. Right at the train station you start the path that will take you to skirt the lake, surrounded by a large chopera tree as a sign of a riverside forest. If you are hungry, you can go to the towns of Santa Coloma de Farners or Llagostera.
