The Festa Major del Prat (El Prat festivities) begins in Muchamasia
End of September. The temperatures are cooler, we take out a sweatshirt as a sign that summer is over. But we prepare for the best of the year. It’s time to celebrate the Festa Major del Prat, our popular party. In MuchaMasia, Hostel Rural Urbà del Prat de Llobregat, we live it with great intensity. The celebrations arrive and we offer you a little of what we will live at home.
And also, we want to make it known to the citizens of El Prat and to all the people who come to us from other parts of the world. We want you to know our culture, both those who visit us and those who live in El Prat.
Ready: the best of the year arrives.
We join the Festa Major del Prat
You know that what we like most is popular culture and music. We have always been close to the popular culture entities of the city and supporting local musicians. And for this Festa Major we are not going to change it.
On September 21, 22 and 23 we will offer an advance to the Festa Major, which as you know is celebrated from September 28 to October 1. We live the party with several proposals that will serve as an appetizer to what will come.
Popular culture and music for all
We anticipate the festivities with a very musical advance. On Friday, September 21 from 8:00 p.m. you can come and enjoy the atmosphere. From 20:30 the music will take the patio to the rhythm of Jack’s songs, until 10pm. Perhaps some of you already discovered them in our patio, the sound of the harmonica had to return to MuchaMasia and soon it will happen.
On Saturday 22 we will opened the doors of MuchaMasia to the popular culture entities. Castellers, Picacrestes and some colla who will join at the last minute will perform in the courtyard of MuchaMasia from 17.30h. They will be with us all afternoon to warm up for the Festa the following week. Thanks to popular culture you can imagine the past and thanks to these cultural entities of the Prat in Mucha Masia we enjoy the present.
We will continue with the music. From 8pm until 8:45 pm Dj Gordo will liven up the sunset. And then it’s time to dance rumba, because”Los Bohemios Autorizaos” do not fail their appointment with us. You already know that they recorded their video clip “YA LO SÉ” in our hostel, and on Saturday from 9pm they will make us dance with their cool rumba.
On Sunday 23 we continued our advance of the Festa Major with a vermouth from 12.30 to 15:30 with Juanska Selector, this time with the suitcase full of syncopated rhythms in strict vinyl. It will delight us with a small tribute to the soundsystems of the streets of Kingston in the 60s.
You can see that we are preparing for the holidays. And we do it with what we like the most, Popular Culture and Music.
All these days, the events are free and will take place in a schedule that respects the rest of the neighbors. MuchaMasia wants to continue adding and contributing our bit for the culture of the city.
From September 28 to October 1, all partying
And you can not miss the celebration of the Festa Major del Prat. These are the festivities of our town, and if you stay in MuchaMasia you will be able to enjoy endless proposals. Since Friday, there are many proposals to have fun. Correfocs, giants, visit the Fair or enjoy music. This year, the town crier will be Alfred García. The Prat singer will also perform on Saturday on the stage of the Renfe.
We recommend you actively participate in all the events of the Festa Major. You will live popular culture from within. On Friday night the Esclat is celebrated in the square, where all the popular culture entities act just before the proclamation. It is an amazing moment of music and fire.
In the agenda, write the Diada Castellera on Saturday 29 in the Plaza de la Vila. The Castellers del Prat are the hosts of the first level castellero groups. You will see human towers of 8 or 9 heights, you will be very surprised. Saturday night is the turn for the fire of the Diables del Prat and his “correfoc” or fire parades through the center of town (they pass through the Muchamasia gate as well). And on Sunday the whole weight of popular culture is focused on the giants and big heads. Those towering creatures make you look up at the sky with majesty and rhythm.
