This summer, enjoy the best open-air cinema in Barcelona

On summer nights, few things are more appealing than enjoying a good film in the open air. At Mucha Masia, we know this well, and that’s why we’re dedicating this blog post to recommending places where you can go to enjoy open-air cinema this summer in Barcelona.

Sala Montjuïc

We already mentioned it in the July agenda. From 27th June to 6th August, the area next to Las Tres Chimeneas, in Sant Adrià de Besòs, transforms into a cinema. This year’s programme is packed with award-winning films from the latest awards season, such as Anora and El 47, as well as cult classics like Blade Runner and Forrest Gump. All films are shown in their original version with subtitles. Full listings and tickets here:

Cinema Lliure is an initiative that combines cinema and beach, and to make it truly free, it’s completely free of charge. The screenings, also in original version with subtitles, begin at sunset, between half past nine and ten, and take place in several locations across Catalonia and Mallorca. The ones closest to Mucha Masia are Barcelona and Sitges.

Sant Sebastià Beach (Barcelona)

These are the scheduled screenings at Sant Sebastià Beach, the Barcelona venue of Cinema Lliure:

  • 17th July: Salve Maria
  • 24th July: Flow
  • 31st July: Siempre nos quedará mañana
  • 3rd August: the film will be chosen by public vote
