Sagrada Familia

Despite being unfinished, the Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited spots in the city. The jewel of modernism truly deserves it. What not many people know is that every weekend, international masses are held which anyone can attend. Anyone willing to wait for an hour to avoid being locked out, as the capacity is limited. On Saturdays at 8:00 PM, there’s an evening mass, and on Sundays at 9:00 AM, there’s a morning one.

Picasso Museum

The Picasso Museum is one of the most visited museums in Barcelona. It has become a key place for learning about Pablo Picasso’s formative years, with 5,000 permanent works that reveal the genius of the painter.

On the first Sunday of every month, you can visit it for free. You can also visit on January 4th and 5th, February 12th, May 18th, and September 24th. Additionally, from October 14th to April 13th, you can visit for free on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and from April 15th to October 12th, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. It’s necessary to book in advance on their website.

Extra: Admission to the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) is also free on the first Sunday of each month, as well as on Saturdays from 3:00 PM.

Ciutadella Park

Ciutadella Park is one of the most notable parks in Barcelona. It’s open to the public every day from 7:00 AM until 10:30 PM. Among its many incredible spaces, the recently reopened greenhouse stands out, featuring a wide variety of tropical plants.

Extra: You only need to cross a street from the park to reach the Born Cultural and Memory Centre, where you can also visit, free of charge, the remains of 18th-century Barcelona.

Horta Labyrinth

We end with the Horta Labyrinth, another of the city’s most famous and visited green spaces. It’s a spectacular place, almost escaped from a fantasy tale. And yes, you can visit it for free as well. When? On Wednesdays and Sundays.
