These are the plans events in El Prat this October

Local festivities, festivals, music, cinema, theatre… If you’re staying at Mucha Masia in October, you’ll be able to enjoy cultural activities that will make your stay even better. Keep reading to discover the best plans for October in El Prat.

Castanyada

Before Halloween arrived with a bang, Castanyada was the most significant celebration at this time of year. With a long tradition in Catalonia, Castanyada welcomes autumn. It’s common to eat chestnuts (hence the name) and pine nut cakes.

Fortunately, there are still people who resist the pull of Halloween and ensure that Castanyada continues to be celebrated. On 30th October, in Sant Jordi Square, the neighbourhood association organizes this festival. Chestnuts will, of course, be on offer, but there will also be a live circus performance. Don’t miss it.

Afores Fest

Once again, our friends at La Capsa are organising Afores Fest. On Saturday 19th October, from nine o’clock in the evening, you can discover modern music and emerging bands that find their space at this festival.

But that’s not all. On 13th October at seven in the evening, La Capsa will host a Jam Session. And on the 20th, at the same time, you can catch Remei de Ca la Fresca and Ketekalles in concert.

The Quiet Girl

On 16th October, Capri Cinema Club brings us what many consider to be the best Irish film of the 21st century. The Quiet Girl is a family drama centred on a vulnerable nine-year-old girl, and a portrait of the rural Ireland in the 1980s. Admission is free.

La colección

L’Artesà kicks off the season in style. On 20th October at six in the evening, you can watch La colección, a new play by Juan Mayorga revolving around inheritance and love, starring José Sacristán and Ana Marzoa, two icons of the national theatre scene.
