This autumn, Connect with Nature without Leaving El Prat
Now that we’ve left behind the stifling summer heat, at Mucha Masia we believe this is the best time of year for walks and reconnecting with nature. That’s why this autumn, we suggest you connect with nature without even leaving El Prat. El Prat has some protected natural spaces, and a Parc Agrari, that are perfect for those walks and moments of escape we’ve mentioned. Let’s take a closer look at them.
Pineda de Can Camins
Located between the beach and the airport, this pine forest has a unique biodiversity, which is why it’s part of the Natura 2000 network. To prevent damage, visits are only allowed on the first Sunday of each month, accompanied by a guide.
Natural Spaces of the River
The Natural Spaces of the River offer a great variety of landscapes: coastal ponds, reed beds, wet meadows, and even a protected, closed-off beach. In the wetlands of Cal Tet and Sabogal, you can observe a wide variety of birds, as the Llobregat Delta is a stopover for thousands of migrating birds. These spaces can be visited independently, although guided tours are available on the second Sunday of each month.
La Bunyola, the Carrabiners, and the Semaphore
This is one of our favourite routes, which can also be done by bike (our clients can rent the bikes we have to their disposition). The path follows the Bunyola canal to the coast, where you’ll find the Carrabiners barracks. Now abandoned, it once served to control and patrol the coastline. You’ll also come across the Semaphore house, which was used to regulate maritime traffic and today offers an exceptional view of the unspoilt beach in front of it and the surrounding wetlands. Guided visits take place on the third Sunday of each month.
Parc Agrari
Though not a natural space, the Parc Agrari is part of El Prat’s rural landscape and is also ideal for walking or cycling, while respecting the farmers’ work. The Parc Agrari’s scenery changes with the seasons and crop cycles, always offering memorable views. This document from the Diputació de Barcelona includes various routes to explore.
