In August, There’s Nothing Better Than the Beach
As we at Mucha Masia know that in August there’s nothing better than the beach, we’re dedicating this blog post to telling you how to make the most of a day at the beach. But not just any beach, the one at el Prat de Llobregat, the municipality where we’re located.
The beach at el Prat de Llobregat is a unique spot on the coast of the province of Barcelona. Since it’s separated from the urban centre of the municipality by the airport, it’s a practically untouched beach, free from invasive constructions and boasting very clean water.
How to Get There
Firstly, we’ll explain how to get there.
Besides driving, you can reach the beach by the PR3 bus, which runs every 30 minutes. The stop closest to Mucha Masia is at Plaza de la Vila, in front of the town hall building. The last return bus leaves the beach at 21:15. Don’t miss it!
You can also get there on foot or by bicycle via the path that borders the airport. However, on the hottest days, we recommend avoiding the peak hours of the day, as not all sections have shade. If you choose this option, you can take a break at the aeroplane viewing point. If you don’t have bicycles, and you’re our guests, you can rent the ones we have available (5 euros for half a day and 9 for the whole day).
What to Do
Once at the beach, everyone finds their own way to enjoy it. Whether it’s sunbathing and taking occasional dips or engaging in activities like playing paddle ball or volleyball. If you get hungry or fancy a cool drink, you can stop at one of the three beach bars.
Tips
Lastly, here are some tips you shouldn’t overlook to enjoy the sun and the beach.
The first is to apply sunscreen. Yes, it seems obvious, but we always encounter people who look like red tomatoes.
The second is to follow the lifeguards’ instructions. During the summer season (from May to October), the Lifeguard and Rescue Service ensures the safety of swimmers. They are the ones who put up the flags indicating whether swimming is allowed (green), caution is needed (yellow), or swimming is prohibited (red).
And finally, remember to keep the beach clean to preserve biodiversity and ensure the healthy environment we all desire. Taking our trash with us is crucial, as failing to do so harms marine creatures and pollutes the water.
