Great plans in June in El Prat

Summer is here and El Prat is getting ready to welcome it. Here we tell you how to enjoy the night of San Juan in this municipality, where Mucha Masia is located, and we offer you other amazing plans in June in El Prat.

The “revetlla de Sant Joan”

The “revetlla de Sant Joan” is the name by which Catalans know the night of San Juan, which marks the beginning of summer. Without a doubt, it is one of the most magical nights of the year, and in El Prat there is no shortage of activities to celebrate it.

In each neighbourhood of the municipality, different neighbourhood organizations are responsible for organizing the party. We highlight the one in La Barceloneta, an emblematic neighbourhood that every year is fully involved in the organization of this special night.

From 11:00 p.m. on June 23, in the gardens of Mon Racó, the party begins with coca (a traditional cake) and cava (Spanish sparkling wine), and an hour later, it is time for the big dance with music and a giant video screen. In addition, there are fireworks and firecrackers.

But not everything is San Juan. Here are other plans for June in El Prat.

Concerts

On June 1, at the Capsa, you can enjoy J. Merino & Revolbert Roll Band. With over 30 years of experience, these artists recreate classics of black music and perform lively original songs. Starting at 9:30 p.m. Tickets available on this website.

Also on June 1, but at 7:00 p.m. at the Cèntric Espai Cultural, Unió Filharmònica del Prat offers its spring concert. Free tickets until full capacity is reached.

Cinema

As every month, the Capri Cinema hosts the free session of the Cine Club. In June, the chosen film is Close, directed by Belgian filmmaker Lukas Dhont. The story focuses on the response that two children who share a close friendship have when their classmates suggest they are homosexual. Don not miss it: on June 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy one of the most emblematic operas of Giuseppe Verdi. On June 14 at 5:30 p.m., the Cèntric Espai Cultural screens the recording of Rigoletto at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 2023. Admission is free upon reservation.

Theatre

Finally, a theatre plan. On June 2 at 6:00 p.m., l’Artesà hosts “Yo soy el monstruo que os habla” (I am the monster speaking to you). In this performance, Paul B. Preciado, a reference in queer theory, brings his lecture about the violence of psychoanalysis about gender dissidence to the stage.
