Discover the Llobregat Delta by Bike from Mucha Masia
Do you want to discover the Llobregat Delta by bike, support sustainable and local tourism and connect with a unique ecosystem just minutes away from Barcelona? We invite you to do it, starting from Mucha Masia. It’s a 12-kilometre route (go and back) that runs along cycle lanes and flat paths, suitable for all travellers regardless of fitness level, whether you’re travelling solo or with a partner, friends, or family. And don’t worry about the bike—if you’re staying with us, we’ll rent you one to discover the Llobregat Delta.
From Mucha Masia to the Start of the Beach Path
The first stretch of the route is the only urban section, so it’s important to pay close attention to vehicles and pedestrians. From Mucha Masia, head down Jaume Casanovas Street until you reach Verge de Montserrat Avenue, where you’ll turn left. Then take the first right onto Coronel Sanfeliu Street, which has a dedicated cycle lane. Follow this lane until you reach the start of the beach path. Along this initial section, you’ll pass the Muntadas Tower and the Balcells Tower, two of El Prat’s historical buildings, which we talk about here.
The Plane Spotting Point: A Crossroads

Continue along the beach path until you reach the plane spotting viewpoint, where several routes intersect, and you’ll need to choose which direction to take. Turn right to head to the beach. Go straight ahead to discover the old Carabiniers’ barracks and the Semàfor house. Or turn left to reach the protected areas of the delta, where cycling is not permitted in order to preserve the environment (if you choose this option, note that there is a place to lock up your bike). Whichever route you take, you won’t regret it. Each one offers a unique and extraordinary perspective of the delta and its rich natural and agricultural landscapes.
Keep in mind that, at a leisurely pace, each route will take you about an hour and a half (go and back) to complete. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can visit more than one site in a single outing—just make sure to bring enough food and water, although you’ll find several water fountains along the way. Regardless of the distance or duration of your bike trip through the delta, if you want to enjoy the Llobregat Delta by bike, we recommend bringing sun protection, sunglasses, comfortable footwear and, if you have them, binoculars—they’ll allow you to better observe the many birds that inhabit or visit our beloved Llobregat Delta.
