These are the best places to read in Barcelona and El Prat

Summer holidays are always a good time to read those books that we don’t have time to read during the rest of the year due to our routine. In this blog post, we offer you a list of the best places to read in Barcelona and El Prat this summer. Libraries and parks where we can also take refuge from the heat at this time of year.

Antonio Martín Library

Located in the Cèntric Espai Cultural (Plaça de Catalunya), this is the public library of El Prat, where Mucha Masia is found. With over 3,000 square metres and nearly 100,000 documents, it is one of the reference libraries in the province. Additionally, it acts as a cultural promoter by offering various activities and reading workshops. Have a look at their website to get to know it better.

Parc Nou

Also in El Prat, this park is one of our favourite places to read. It is the largest park in the municipality and is so extensive that it’s impossible not to find a spot where you can read comfortably. We particularly like the pine grove, which shields us from the sun and always emits a pleasant and intense pine scent.

Fondo d’en Peixo

Before heading to Barcelona, we recommend another park in El Prat for reading. Fondo d’en Peixo is just a stone’s throw from Mucha Masia and is also filled with trees that provide shade and benches where you can sit and read.

Joan Miró Library

Located in the park of the same name, this library is a pleasant place to read in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Or to borrow a book to read in the park in which it is situated, which also has numerous pine trees.

García Márquez Library

We end with the one that was chosen as the best public library in the world in 2023. Located in Sant Martí district, the García Márquez Library stands out for its original and practical design and for its collection, which highlights the works of Latin American writers.

Now that you know good places to read this summer, all you have to do is choose the book that will accompany you there.
