What to do in Barcelona this November?
November will be a vibrant month in Barcelona. Football, festivals, concerts, exhibitions. Discover with us what to do in Barcelona this November. You’re sure to find a plan that’s just right for you.
Barça versus Espanyol
With Espanyol back in the first division, this season sees the return of the historic Catalan derby. On Sunday, 3rd November, the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium will host the match between Barça and Espanyol. Excitement is guaranteed.
Barcelona Jazz Festival
Already in full swing since 10th October, the Barcelona Jazz Festival, now in its 56th edition, brings great artists to the city. In November, with concerts happening almost daily, we highlight the performance of guitarist John Scofield at Paral·lel 62 (14th November, 8:30 pm).
Concerts at the Palau
Still in the musical sphere, we highlight the concerts of Bryan Adams (12th November, 9:00 pm) and Manolo García (30th November, 9:00 pm) at the Palau Sant Jordi. Two of the greatest guitarists and lyricists from the Anglo-Saxon and Spanish music scenes.
World Press Photo
As every year, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) hosts the exhibition of award-winning photographs from the prestigious World Press Photo. The exhibition will open on 8th November and be on display until 15th December. These are photographs that depict and denounce realities we often turn away from: conflicts, inequalities, migrations. That’s why they impact us and make us reflect.
Agnès Varda: Photographing, Filming, Recycling
We conclude with another exhibition at the CCCB, which in November is practically bidding farewell (it closes on 8th December). We are talking about Agnès Varda: Photographing, Filming, Recycling. Inaugurated last summer, it has received critical and public acclaim for showcasing and contextualizing the figure of Varda. A big name of the French New Wave, she is one of the most influential filmmakers in history, and the exhibition explores her life and work.
