To “Sant Pollin” we ask …

Next July 7 we celebrate Sant Pollín. It is our particular San Fermín. The Colla de Diables del Prat organizes this event for ten years. In the purest style of Pamplona, we have races, prayers to the saint and even the “Pobre de Mi”. If those days you stay in MuchaMasia you can not miss this party of El Prat de Llobregat. It’s one of those things that you have to experience. In addition, we are one of the nerve centers of the party. The rural hostel urbà del Prat prepares to put the “handkerchief” around his neck and start running in front of … a chicken!

Visca Sant Pollín!

This party is unparalleled. It started ten years ago as a children’s game and over time it has become a big party. The main idea of this party is to live the enclosures of Pamplona but in El Prat. There are no bulls here. Here the chicken of the Diables del Prat is taken out for a walk. He waits in his corral the exit to the encierro. And after the txupinazo, the chicken prepares to ram and chase anyone who comes in front. The little ones tempt him with newspapers and equipped with the uniforms of the party. The encierro runs through the streets of the old town and ends at L’Artesà.

From that main idea the party has been growing. The “big” confinement of Saturday morning has been incorporated into a lock, more rogue and nocturnal, just the night before. And all accompanied by the gastronomic route of Sant Pollín. These days, if you’re staying in Muchamasia, you’re going to freak out. You will see. Even some night, or Friday or Saturday, the Chicken sleeps in MuchaMasia.

The festivities of Sant Pollín start on Thursday, July 5 and will last all weekend. The party will end when the “Pobre de mi” is played. To follow all the proposals of this event, we recommend that you consult the website of Diables del Prat. They know in detail everything that is proposed for that day.

Since June 16, in MuchaMasia we have an exhibition of photos about Sant Pollín. Our barn space is decorated with Sant Pollin theme and you can see some of the best images of the ten years of this multitudinous event. The hours to visit the expo in our barn are on June 30, from 20 to 22.30. On the 5th and 6th of July, from 18 to 20. On July 7, from 11-13 and from 18 to 20. And on Sunday, July 8, from 6 to 8 pm. Do not be afraid to enter to visit the expo. You ring the bell and we will open the doors of our house.

Finally, we will be the final point of the guided tour of the different exhibitions of Sant Pollín 2018. We will celebrate on Saturday June 30 with a concert of Jack’s Sons to the rhythm of blues, Soul and Rock and Roll. We will open doors at 8pm, and enjoy the music from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be free entrance for all who come to visit us.
